چکیده

Magnetic fields are a standard tool in the toolbox of every physicist, and required for characterization materials, as well polarization spins nuclear magnetic resonance or electron paramagnetic experiments. Quite often static field sufficiently large, but fixed magnitude is suitable these tasks. Here we present permanent magnet assembly that can achieve strengths up to 1.5T over an air gap length 7mm. The based on Halbach array neodymium (NdFeB) magnets, with inclusion soft material Supermendur boost strength inside gap. We design, simulation assembly, measuring outstanding stability drift rate |D| < 2.8 ppb/h. Our measurements demonstrate this be used spin qubit experiments dilution refrigerator, successfully replacing more expensive bulky superconducting solenoids.

Ultra-high-Q phononic resonators on-chip at cryogenic temperatures

Long-lived, high frequency phonons are valuable for applications ranging from optomechanics to emerging quantum systems. For scientific as well as technological impact, we seek high-performance oscillators that offer a path towards chip-scale integration. Confocal bulk acoustic wave resonators have demonstrated an immense potential to support long-lived phonon modes in crystalline media at cryo...

First Operational Experience with a Cryogenic Permanent Magnet Undulator at the Esrf

A cryogenically cooled in-vacuum undulator was installed in the ID6 test beamline of the ESRF in January 2008. This 2 metre long hybrid undulator has a period of 18 mm. The magnetic assembly is based on NdFeB permanent magnets cooled at a temperature close to 150 K. A liquid nitrogen closed loop is used for the cooling of the undulator. This cooling system is well adapted to achieve a uniform t...

Refractive Index of ZnSe at Cryogenic Temperatures†

This report describes an extensive data set on the refractive index of ZnSe that provides full high resolution coverage of the CRIRES operating range in both wavelength and temperature. By combining our prototype instrument model of CRIRES with these data our project to provide wavelength calibration for IR Echelle spectrographs (WIRE) has reached an important milestone and is ready to support ...

Application of T-shape Friction T test for Ti-6Al-4V Alloy at Elevated Temperatures

There are several parameters that have significant influence in metal forming process. One of the most important of them is friction coefficient. Friction can change the pattern of metal flow and the force needed for deformation. It is necessary to determine the friction coefficient to study the effect of friction on metal forming process. This study is concerned with numerical and experimental...

An Adjustable Permanent Magnet Quadrupole (pmq) Final Focus System for Low Energy Experiments

The final focus system for the Thomson X-ray scattering experiment termed PLEIADES (Picosecond Laser-Electron InterAction for Dynamic Evaluation of Structures) at LLNL demands ultra-high field gradient quadrupoles in order to focus initially small beams to 1020μm spot sizes. The scheme present here circumvents limitations due to chromatic aberrations and space-charge effects in this relatively ...
